The 蜜柚视频 Office of Equity and Inclusion hosted a Unity-Peace Walk on the evening of Nov. 15. The goal was simple but powerful.

鈥淭he purpose of the event is to reaffirm and remind all members of the university community of Central鈥檚 commitment to being a safe, inclusive, learning and working environment,鈥 said Dr. Craig Wright, vice president for Equity and Inclusion. 鈥淩ecognizing that our diversity makes us great, our goal is to walk in unity and peace as one university community.鈥

Holding electronic candles, a large group of students, faculty, and staff gathered in front of Welte Auditorium at 5 p.m. and processed along a luminaria-lit path around campus.

Among the assembled guests was Central President Zulma R. Toro, who offered a few words before the walk.

鈥淲e, as human beings, can have disagreements. We can argue for our ideas,鈥 she said. 鈥淏ut at the end of the day, it is very important to learn that we can coexist and live together as family and friends despite our differences.鈥
